WOYWW 199

Here we are, the last Wednesday in March and where exactly is the spring huh? This dreary weather is so depressing. :o(

Anyway, what’s on my workdesk? Well, I’m getting nicely ahead with my cards for Beat the Christmas Rush and as you can see I’m working on the next lot.

27.03.13

I’ve used a digi image Bringing Home the Wreath by Mo Manning not something I usually use, but I saw this one on Pinterest and liked it a lot easel cards I found skulking in the cupboard, My Mind’s Eye All is Bright papers and some gorgeous buttons made by SusiBee in the jar on the right.

I’m off to join Julia’s blog hop round some great workdesks … see you there?

The View Challenge

My regular readers will know that I am taking part in The View Challenge at Happy Snapping and each month in 2013 I am taking a photo of the view from our kitchen window. Unfortunately, March looks pretty similar to February… well, who would have expected snow again?! Will we ever have a spring? Using Jen’s sketch, here’s my page …

I hope we begin to see some change in the photos very soon!

Christmas cards to date : 15

Here I am with another Beat the Christmas Rush instalment. I have to say I’m quite pleased with myself, 15 cards done and dusted already!Sue 2I saw this idea on Pinterest and thought it was a great way to make a bit of a dent in my scraps box; just cut fourteen 2” pieces of patterned paper, starting with 2”x½”  increasing in size by ¼” each time up to 2”x4”. Wrap each piece around a pencil and glue to make a hollow tube then stick to the card in a triangular tree shape. You can leave it like that or decorate the tree with bits and bobs. I did spray the cards with green Mr Huey’s before I started, but only because I just got them. :o)

BTCR Feb 1If you haven’t already found our Christmas challenge at Creative Craft World, pop over there now; you can join the challenge at any time.

Here’s my favourite entry from last month’s links – a gorgeous card by Phil.

WOYWW 198

Wednesday again and I guess you are here to see what’s going on with my workdesk. Well … I’ve been busy organising and I am going to show you my drawers!

If you visited last week you’ll know I spotted in the blog post photograph that the labelling of my Distress Inks was a job half-done. Now it is finished. Yay! I was browsing as you do the stationery shelves in Tesco and saw these two-drawer boxes reduced to half price a £2 bargain so I couldn’t leave it there, could I? Distress Inks fit in there perfectly result!

20.03.13

To finish things off, I stole an idea from my friend, Laura, and put a bit of Velcro on the back of each one to attach its own pad. I think I need to put a piece of something between each one as the tops are getting ink from the one above if you see what I mean? I’ll rethink that and report back. :o)

20.03.13 3

Anyway … here are my completed drawers …20.03.13 1 I’m off to Julia’s place to visit some more workdesks. You coming too?

Sue x

ETA to answer a couple of questions – yes, I do keep the box on its side as I’m not sure about storing the ink pads upright. I’d hoped I could turn the drawers, but they aren’t quite square. :( And I’ve temporarily solved the ink pad problem by slotting a square of paper from my scraps box in between each one. My OCDness doesn’t like it much and I‘m going to replace them with neat white card with the name of each ink written on it – a useful reminder I thought for how the colour looks on card. HTH.

WOYWW 197

Here we are … another Wednesday … and lots of lovely workdesks to visit. First of all I need to apologise for posting last week then not visiting a single desk *hangs head in shame*. In my defence, I was away at a retreat all week and internet access was dire. Anyway, I promise to go to loads of blogs this week and leave comments all over the place to make up for my shoddy behaviour last week. So … onto my desk.13.03.13You can see two minibooks I’ve just finished using the fab tutorial by my friend, Jackie, my treasured jar of dolly pegs dressed in baker’s twine some apparently are wearing butcher’s twine, which is thicker, I’m told smiley pot of course a new teeny flower punch I bought at The Range yesterday, my 6x6 scraps box waiting to be sorted and my little trolley full of Stickles. I think that’s everything that might be interesting. Looking at the photo reminds me I need to finish labelling my Distress inks.

Right – I am off to hop and leave comments as promised. Join me at Julia’s What’s on your Workdesk Wednesday – you’ll be glad you did. :o)

ETA Here are is a closer look at one of the minibooks. I am giving a talk to mum’s WI group on memory books and I am giving one as a raffle prize. If anyone has any suggestions for page headers for a memory book I’d love to have them. :o)

Scrapping update

I’m just back from a week long retreat with my favourite crafting friends, my UKS teamies. What an amazing week we had – amazing food, a lovely, quirky old place to stay, wall-to-wall scrapping and, best of all, fantastic company!  I completed 12 pages, which is very good for a slow and steady scrapper, but I can’t show you all of them as three are for future scrap map challenges at CCW I’m up to August! The first ones are for UKS challenges …

Then some ‘just because’ pages …

and finally, pages for the March Littlegreen kit …

Thank you for a super week, BBs. I can’t wait until next year’s trip to Olney. :o)

WOYWW 196

Good morning from sunny Olney. I’m on a week-long retreat with my special friends from UK scrappers so if you are here to see my work desk you’ll have a nice surprise as it is very neat and tidy for a change. There is more about the retreat on Susibee’s blog here. We are scrapping on the huge kitchen table and you can see the layout I have just finished, my tenth which is amazing for me, the slowest scrapper ever.

06.03.13 Sophia had a metal detector for Christmas and the photo shows her, with her mum, looking for treasure on the beach. Her dad was secretly putting down 2p pieces for her to find. :o)

OK why not join me in a hop around some fab workdesks linked to Julia’s blog?
